Sunmadre.Basset Hounds in Northern Ireland ..

Hello and welcome to our  website, we are in the the progress of establishing our Sunmadre  Basset Hound Kennel here in Donaghcloney , Co Armagh, Northern Ireland hopefully with our  bitch Barratini Razzle Dazzle Jun IR Ch affectionately known as Phoebe!!!

LATEST NEWS : Just read a copy of the Belfast Championship show critique by judge and Basset Hound breed specialist Mrs. Aileen Sharp and am very happy with her fair assessment which you can read below:

 

Baxter’s Jun Ir Ch Barrantini Razzle Dazzle, eye catching bitch with many good qualities & of decent type, typical head, kind eye, soft, fine leathers, strong neck, fractionally upright in shoulder. Nice front & tight feet, supple, elastic skin & short, smooth coat, well rounded ribs although I would like a tad more length of rib. Topline rose a little over the loin however it levelled on the move. While she covered the ring at a fair pace, the power appeared to be coming from the front, whereas a little more bend of stifle would allow her to get her rear feet right under her body & provide, what should be the powerhouse. Presented in perfect show condition & well handled; (considered for the RBCC)

 

LATEST NEWS : 25/09/10 At the Belfast annual 2 day Championship show held in the Kings Hall in the city we were delighted with a second place in Open Bitch and in doing so attains  her stud book number which entitles her to automatic entry to  Crufts for life . Phoebe is only the second Basset  bitch in recent years from Ireland to gain this accolade. 

 

 

 

LATEST NEWS : 11/09/10 After a few months out of the show ring Phoebe has came back with a bang getting a reserve green star and reserve for CACIB at the IKC International Show at the National Show Centre in Dublin.

At Omagh district show took best of breed under well known beagle exhibitor Mr Eamon Murray and went on to be placed 4th in the  hound group

 

 

 

LATEST NEWS: At the Basset hound club of Northern Ireland Championship show

on Sat 27/03/10 Phoebe took home the "Hush Puppy" trophy for the best Basset hound residing in Ireland this is the second year in a row she has won this accolade.

Also Congratulations to her litter mate Barratini Ready Steady Go at Limgoing who won Best In Show on the Day (Owned and shown by Mr. Jim Wilson)This i believe gives her the all important third CC which makes her a British Champion

Judge was breed specialist Mrs Pat Moncur from Scotland.
